1950s Style Dress
MINNIE MOUSE INSPIRED DISNEYBOUND DRESS
August 2013
I originally made this dress to wear to D23 and subsequently have worn it on several trips to Disneyland, including Club 33 before it was remodeled in 2014. I suppose it is Minnie Mouse Disney bounding!

FABRIC: Cotton polk-a-dot fabric and white cotton sateen.
DRESS PATTERN: Butterick 5882 - I modified the straps by criss crossing them in the back. That way they do not have as much of a tendancy to fall off my shoulders. I made sure I lined up the straps with my criss-cross back bra straps, and drafted them longer than called for. I suggested reading Gertie's Blog for extra instructions on how to properly fold the straps around the bust since the photo and pattern directions with the envelope are incorrect.
UNDERGARMENTS: I have a tulle petticoat I made using Simplicity 5006, but I modified the pattern by adding gathered tiers to the petticoat.
